What is teeth cleaning?

Teeth Cleaning mainly involves scaling your teeth and gumline to get rid of plaque and tartar, and polishing afterwards to smoothen the teeth’s surface. This is essential in keeping your teeth and gums in their healthiest condition, as well as preventing a bad breath/halitosis condition. However, if you have symptoms of gum disease, you may need a more thorough type of cleaning which is Scaling and Root Planing (sometimes referred to as Deep Cleaning).

What is deep cleaning?

Deep cleaning may take more than one visit to our clinic. It often involves local anesthetic to minimize discomfort on a patient. The procedure starts with a thorough scaling of all plaque, bacterial toxins, and tartar accumulations from your teeth. It is then followed by root planning, a procedure for smoothening your tooth roots’ surfaces to prevent plaque, bacteria, and tartar from re-adhering on the gum line. After the treatment, your gums are expected to heal and reattach themselves firmly once again.

Airflow Cleaning

A spray of air and sodium bicarbonate and a water jet meet to quickly remove plaque and stains without pain. Much, much faster than conventional brushes, rubber cups, pastes and polishing strips, and much more thorough – without being abrasive. Plaque, soft deposits and discolorations disappear quickly and painlessly – even from very tiny areas.
